Bridges for footpaths and bridleways can be supplied ready assembled, or in kit form which is ideal for restricted access areas.
Douglas fir is preferred as a main structural timber and can be supplied tanalised or untreated. We use Larch for handrail and stantion construction and again can be treated or not. All our handrails and stantions are planed.
Steel can be used to increase the length and capacity of a bridge. If clad afterwards, it can be hard to detect the steel at all.
All our bridges are designed for a live load of 5kN/m2
Key benefits include;
Low maintenance, easy to assemble, transportable, durable, aesthetically pleasing, can be re-cycled at end of life.
